SaFlector® SLEEVES AT STOP-CONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS
Stop signs are generally placed at intersections in pairs. By adding 3-sided SaFlector® sleeves to the posts for both stop signs, you increase the number of cues drivers see for their upcoming stop. These added cues are-
- The front side of the sleeve beneath the stop sign the driver is approaching and
- The back side of the sleeve beneath the stop sign on the far side of the intersection.
Used in pairs like this, the sleeves work together, with the back sides of the sleeves on the far side of intersections reinforcing the presence of stop signs on the near sides of intersections.
This kind of redundancy enhances safety.
From a perspective of liability, this strengthens a jurisdiction’s position in cases where drivers run stop signs.
